SUMMARY OF DETAILS: Kalahari Security contacted police after complaints of a guest exposing themselves in the water park. Through investigation, it was observed the guest, identified as Josiah Grauso, was exposing his genitals in the lazy river area of the water park. Grauso was subsequently arrested and charged.

SUMMARY OF DETAILS: On 8/28/2023, at approximately 8:48PM, Pocono Mountain Regional Police Department(PMRPD) Patrol Officers were dispatched to 162 Diane Ln in Barrett Twp for a report of two deceased individuals on a deck. Family friends located the couple’s bodys when they went to the home following a request by family to check on their well being. Police and investigators arrived on scene to find the two had suffered from apparent gunshot wounds. All evidence located, and the scene indicate that this is an isolated incident and is being investigated as a domestic event. The public is not considered to be in danger at this time. Autopsies for the Oliver’s are scheduled for 8/30/2023 and the investigation will remain open pending the results.

SUMMARY OF DETAILS: Two vehicle accident in the parking lot of Bill's Shop Rite, Borough of Mount Pocono. For an unknown reason, an elderly female driver sped through the parking lot and stuck another vehicle in the traffic was waiting for a parking space. Her vehicle glanced off the other vehicle and then struck the racks of potted flowers on display outside the store. One of the display racks shattered a store window, injuring a cashier at the checkout counter inside. The elderly driver and the cashier were both transported to the hospital for minor injuries.

On 04/23/2023, at approximately 10:01 pm the Pocono Mountain Regional Police were dispatched to an armed robbery at the Sunoco gas station on State Route 611, Tobyhanna Pennsylvania. The investigation revealed that a male, in all black, wearing a ski mask type face covering, entered the gas station and brandished a handgun at the two attendants. The suspect removed US currency from the business and fled from the store. The suspect was described as a black male, thin build, approximately 5’9” in height. One recognizing the clothing or that has other information is asked to call the Pocono Mountain Regional Police Department.

Press Release: 02.24.2023 1541 | Receiving Stolen Property: Vehicle
On 02/23/2023 Pocono Mountain Regional Police were dispatched to Kalahari Resorts for a report of a stolen vehicle located on the property via OnStar GPS. Officers responded and located the vehicle in the Kalahari Resort and confirmed its status as stolen. Kalahari Resort surveillance footage revealed that there were four occupants in the vehicle upon its arrival at the resort. Pocono Mountain Regional Police conducted a canvas of the property and its surrounding areas. All four suspects were located and apprehended. During the investigation, Scott gave false information regarding his identity. The adults were committed to the Monroe County Correctional Facility. The juvenile was placed in foster care due to parents / guardians refusing to take custody and no available detention facilities. The stolen vehicle was brought back to PMRPD headquarters.

Press Release: 02.15.2023 0912 | Fleeing and Eluding Police
On 2/15/2023, at 0518 hours, Pocono Mountain Regional Police conducted a traffic stop in Coolbaugh Township. Once stopped, the driver fled from the stop at a high rate of speed, south on SR 196. The driver traveled into a residential district within Mount Pocono Borough, where police contained him on a dead-end roadway. The suspect then fled on foot, leaving the vehicle behind. Police were able to identify the driver as Justin Gaston. Police learned that Gaston’s driver’s license was suspended for DUI. Gaston was also in possession of non-medical marijuana.

Press Release: 02.09.2023 10:28 AM | Pursuit / Possession of Controlled Substance
On February 8th, 2023, Officers from the Pocono Mountain Regional Police Department attempted to conduct a traffic stop at 1028 hours along Rt. 196 in Coolbaugh Twp on a gray in color BMW sedan. The vehicle fled from the traffic stop and traveled north on Rt. 196 and made a U-turn at the K&L gate of Pocono County Place. The vehicle continued to flee southbound on Rt. 196 at a high rate of speed. Police were able to bring the vehicle to a stop, however, the male fled on foot into a gated community. Police were able to identify the driver as Carmine Villafane from Brooklyn, New York. Villafane was taken into custody at approximately 1600 hours. A search of the vehicle revealed marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The vehicle was also not street-legal. Villafane was taken to the Monroe County Correctional Facility pending his arraignment.
Press Release: 01.25.2023 1804 | Recovered Stolen Motor Vehicle
On Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at approximately 1804 hours, the Pocono Mountain Regional Police Department was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident on Belgravia Drive in Tobyhanna, Coolbaugh Township, Monroe County, Pennsylvania. Upon police arrival, the driver of the vehicle had left the scene. Shortly later, it was discovered that the involved motor vehicle, a 2017 black Infiniti QSO, was confirmed stolen out of Worcester, Massachusetts. PMRPD Officers conducted follow-up interviews with residents in the area of the accident scene. Based on the investigation, PMRPD Officers were able to identify and locate the suspect to be Justin Alexcis Massa. Massa was placed under arrest without incident, charged with the below charges, and committed to Monroe County Correctional Facility pending his Preliminary Arraignment.

On 1/21/2023, Pocono Mountain Regional Police were dispatched to the Walmart in Mount Pocono for a retail theft. While responding, police were advised that the suspect had loaded up a shopping cart with merchandise and attempted to leave the store. When confronted, the suspect attempted to assault the Walmart loss prevention officer and fled the store without the merchandise. A description of the suspect was given and police were able to review video of the incident. Walmart then tallied the amount that the suspect attempted to steal which totaled $1,246.18. A short time later, on a separate incident, Police observed a female matching the description from Walmart. Police positively identified her and placed her into custody. The suspect was identified as Misty Robinson. She was transported to Monroe County Correctional Facility.

01.17.2023: Officers were dispatched to a fight on Route 940 near McDonald’s. Police were advised that the male suspect was wielding a machete. The suspect fled prior to police arrival and no injuries were reported. During the course of this investigation, it was found that this altercation started as a verbal argument during a road rage incident. The suspect then got out of his vehicle wielding a machete and made threats to kill the victims. Officers were able to positively identify the suspect and located him at his home. The machete was confiscated by officers and charges are pending.
